Nala
Twister and Sassy (when she was a foal).
To your left, is the original Woods' Lake Navy! The first three were presents from a friend, the other one just showed up here one day. The four lived harmoniously for quite a while until a family of gray foxes moved into the area. Then, there were two, the WLD WaddleCanal, and the Watership Down (pun intended).
Cloud, Twister, Sassy and Miracle
Cloud is pictured above, along with Sassy who is the foal you see to the left, all grown up. Cloud is 34 years old which makes him ancient for a hourse. He's an appolusa and like me, he doesn't mind being out in the pasture. Twister is Sassy's mom and she too loves a good blade of grass.
The picture above is one of my bride, my gandson and a foal we named Bonnie's Miracle. Miracle is all grown up now, in fact, last June she turned 6 whcih is horsey years is old enough to vote! You won't find much on her here because hers is a very interesting story. So interesting in fact, that she rates her own page. If you'd like to know her story, click on Bonnie's Miricle above and it will take you to that page.
CHAMP (above and to the right)- He's half German Shepherd half Basset Hound (what a combination). Champ sleeps on his back like people do. Our Granddaughter (a bit of an animal in her own right) brought him here for all of us to enjoy. He looks a bit like a perverted weenie dog and he's as friendly as they come. Actually he doesn't spend a lot of time here, he prefers the company of our neighbors to the south and usually waits on a street corner for me to pick him up each day. He can be a bit grumpy at times and will let you know if he wishes to be left alone. To our knowledge he's never bitten anyone. If he had, he wouldln't be here.
NALA -She's the one pictured below, she's a sweetheart and she's all dog. She will try and convince you that she's never eaten in her life. I assure you, she has so we ask nicely that you not feed them. Finally, There's Lettie. She has some greyhound in her and she's fast and she's also a puppy. She's as sweet as they come but she will grab something (like your bait) and run with it if you leave it laying around and she takes a shine to it. If she does, let us know and we'll try to help you get it back. DON'T EVEN TRY TO CATCH HER! We've clocked her at 30 MPH going up the driveway. In the meanwhile let us know if she becomes a pest and we'll put her up until we get her manners under control. Like said, she's a puppy!
